Refresh Update – 7 Things to Know

1. Why will you be closed?
The Spring Lake District Library will be closed from April 8th to April 19th as we enter the final phase of the Refresh Project. During this time, we’ll be relocating shelves and books to prepare for our Grand Re-Opening on April 20th.

2. Can I still return items while you are closed?
Yes, items can be returned via the drive-thru.

3. Will Storytime continue while the library is closed?
Both Lapsit Storytime on Tuesdays at 10 AM, and Storytime on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM and 11 AM will continue at the Barber School during the closure.

4.  Will I be able to copy or fax while the library is closed?
Unfortunately, the copy machine will not be accessible. Alternatives include Pak Mail in Spring Lake or Loutit Library in Grand Haven.

5. Can I pick up my holds at the library while the library is closed?
Holds cannot be picked up at the library during the closure. However, you can call the library at 616-846-5770 to request your holds to be picked up at another library.

6. What if my books are due while you’re closed?
Due dates will be extended until our reopening on April 20th. We encourage returning items before this date via the drive-thru return bin.

7. Are you having a reopening celebration?
Yes! Save the date for Saturday, April 20th! Join us for a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at 1 PM, followed by an afternoon of exciting activities as we reveal our refreshed library. We can’t wait to welcome you back to our revitalized space!

This project is supported by the Michigan Arts and Culture Council, the National Endowment for the Arts, Library of Michigan, Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, Institute of Museum and Library Services, and the Loutit Family Foundation.
