What do police dogs do? Learn all about the Ottawa County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit on Wednesday, January 24 at 7pm. Sheriff’s Deputy Tony Stariha and his four-legged partner Pappy will be at the library to demonstrate their abilities and meet their fans.

Ottawa County has 4 K-9 units. Deputy Stariha will discuss how the K-9 teams are trained and certified.  Officers and their canine partners are skilled in tracking, handler protection, criminal apprehension, narcotics detection, and building and evidence searches.
