Michigan is a boater’s paradise, and many of its residents count time spent on the lakes and rivers among their favorite pastimes. With so many waterways to travel, it’s no surprise that Michigan has a long and storied boat building history. On Wednesday, May 31 at 7pm, join author Scott Peters to learn about the people involved in Michigan’s boating industry and the processes and products evolved here.
Peters is curator of collections at the Michigan Historical Museum. His book, Making Waves: Michigan’s Boat Building Industry, 1865-2000, was named a 2016 Michigan Notable book.
