Get ready to see and explore the wreck of the John V. Moran with shipwreck hunter and author Valerie van Heest on Thursday, November 17 at 7pm. Before the summer of 2015, the John V. Moran hadn’t been seen for 116 years. It sank in Feburary 1899 just 15 miles off the coast of Grand Haven.
Valerie van Heest managed the search operation for the John V. Moran. In June 2015, the Michigan Shipwreck Research Association found the ship laying below 365 feet of water. We’re excited to welcome Ms. van Heest to talk about the search for the Moran, the circumstances under which she sank, and what the ship looks like today below the waves of Lake Michigan.
