Summer Reading is coming up fast, and the Youth Services department is looking for teen volunteers to help make Summer Reading 2017, Build a Better World, the best yet!  We’re really excited about the programs and events we have planned, and we need some great teens to help us carry them out.

Teens will be able to choose from an assortment of tasks like helping children with crafts or activities, collecting reading logs and handing out prizes, and helping to prepare for storytimes, crafting or other programs.  We’ll be asking our volunteers to sign up for at least three time slots to volunteer during the summer so they’ll be able to schedule times around other commitments like sports, jobs, or family vacations.

Who can volunteer? Kids who:

  • Are at least 13 years old or entering 7th grade in Fall 2017
  • Enjoy working with people and kids or like to help prepare for programs and events. (Or both!)
  • That’s it!

Volunteering is a great way to help the community, gain work experience, and have fun this summer.  To apply, download our Teen Volunteer application or pick up an application at the Youth Services desk, fill it out, and turn it into the library by April 21!
