Implicit bias is the way our subconscious views the world. Without realizing it, we can make favorable or unfavorable judgements about people based solely on their race, gender, age, and appearance. On Thursday, January 12 at 6:30pm, the library will partner with the Lakeshore Ethnic Diversity Alliance to present a program about implicit bias, what harm it does, and how to unlearn harmful biases.

Alfredo Hernandez, Program Director for LEDA, will discuss the latest research about implicit bias during an interactive workshop.  Participants will gain an understanding of the role implicit biases play in both personal and professional interactions.  The workshop is free, but please pre-register to reserve your spot.
