If you’ve ever wondered about West Michigan’s first residents, the Native Americans, visit the library on Wednesday, November 2 at 7pm to hear Dr. Wallace Ewing talk about his latest book, Footprints: Stories of Native Americans in West Central Michigan.

Dr. Ewing will share stories of the tribal members and leaders whose actions shaped Michigan history. Moving beyond memories and legends, Dr. Ewing discovered detailed information about the Native populace during the early and mid-nineteenth century in newspaper and magazine articles, books, censuses, and vital records.

Copies of Footprints will be for sale from The Bookman, and a book signing will follow the author’s talk.
