Calling all kids from preschool through 8th grade! Are you ready to show off your artistic skills and show the world what you love about the library?  From October 1 through 22, we’re encouraging you to submit original bookmark designs for the 23rd annual bookmark contest!

You are invited to create a bookmark on the theme “Reading Gives You Superpowers!”  A panel of local artists will judge the entries and award prizes for each grade level. Then we get to print the winning bookmarks in full color for people to pick up and use all year at the library.  Since the bookmarks will be printed in color, using crayons or markers for the designs are encouraged.

Kids can turn in as many designs as they want, but all artwork must be original – you can’t use recognizable characters or trace or copy other images. All our entries will be displayed at the library during November.

Are you ready to start designing? Download and print an entry form right away!  Forms are also available at the library and through local schools. Entries are due Saturday, October 22 by 5 pm.  The contest is sponsored by the Friends of the Spring Lake District Library. We can’t wait to see what you come up with!
