Whether you’re an accordion enthusiast or new to the instrument, you’ll want to come to Music by the Fireplace on Sunday, May 15 to hear Michael Schaeffer’s impressive repertoire.  He’ll play tangos, polkas, klezmer and Eastern European music along with French and Italian classics like La Vie en Rose and Torna a Surriento.

Schaeffer, who is also a pianist and an abstract visual artist, was inspired by a dream to begin playing the accordion fifteen years ago. He is passionate about the accordion, appreciating the instrument for its versatility and portability.  He is also a composer and will perform his original songs Sassy Tango and Daundi se Dispani for us. Learn more about Schaeffer’s music and art by visiting his website, www.michaeltheaccordionist.com.

This will be the final concert before the Music by the Fireplace series goes on summer hiatus. The series will resume on Sunday, Sept. 18, with a concert by Sax Man John Gist.
